True Brits/All
Star/Dianno & Stratton Sessions
This is my attempt at the most boring page on the Internet.
Below is listed all the tracks on the CD I have discovered so far that
contain tracks recorded around the time of the All Stars original session. This
have been released over the years by Lea Hart but I think they all originate
around 1989/90. I am lacking in ideas as to how best to present this to you. To
be able to benefit from it you need to be able to sort it but that is beyond my
knowledge.

Praying Mantis In The Press
Record Mirror – January 5th 1980
Budgie/Girlschool/Angle Witch/Praying Mantis by Malcolm Dome
Any gig proclaimed as the Heaviest Night of the Year (as this one was) is
setting its sights astronomically high, and this four band assault on the sheer
face of hard rock only partially lived up to the headbanging promise of the
slogan.
First into the fray were Praying Mantis, whose tight-fisted 30 minute set really
warmed up the place. The last time I reviewed Mantis, when they supported, Iron
Maiden at the Marquee, I suggested that they were about ready to play larger
venues, and their performance at the Lyceurn let no-one down. Firebrands such as
“Got a Rainbow”, “Ripper” and “Lovers to the Grave” fired the atmosphere a good
few degrees in the process.

Explanations from Lea Hart and Chris O’shaugnessy about why the album was made.
Then First Strike and a bit on them plus a clip of the promo of “Girls of the
World”
Next Dennis Stratton (DS) “Hello I am Dennis Stratton. And I have slept with Lea
Hart”

Kerrang – January 1984 (The gig was 17 December 1983)
REALLY, for a new band with a pedigree at least 50 fretboards long, Clive Burr’s
Escape failed to gain the full attention and interest that should have been due
to them on this their debut performance. The turn-out could have been much
better and it seemed that the rival attractions of Judas Priest and Quiet Riot
had cost the ex-Maiden drummer some of his potential audience.

“TRIUMPH TOUR” AUTUMN 1980
Praying Mantis set off on yet another trip around Britain with a Canadian Band
‘Triumph’ at the beginning of November 1980. A tour with more problems than can
usually be expected, but also with more ‘Triumph’s’ than previous tours
undertaken by Mantis.
The tour introduces Steve Carroll to the band’s fans and also a completely
re-arranged set including numbers from the new album, ‘Time Tell No Lies” which
is due for release on February 20th.
