Praying Mantis's Discography

Last Modified On 21 Mar 2009
Metal Explosion from the Friday Rock Show reviewed by Kim Bjerg on Tue 03/18/03

Review: This LP is, without doubt, the best compilaton from glory days of NWOBHM. There is no weak tracks here!

Side 1 opens with SAMSON playing TAKE IT LIKE A MAN. This version is much stronger than the one issued on their HEAD ON album.

Track 2 is the wonderful JOHNNY COOL from PRAYING MANTIS! I miss this one on their TIME TELLS NO LIES album. Great guitars - great vocals!!

Track 3 is the wonderful band from Suffolk, TRESPASS playing their best track ever: VISIONARY. This one is also the best version of this song ever released!

Track 4 is PAPER CHASER from a band called TAURUS. I have never heard any other recordings from this group, but it is one of the many highlights on this LP.

SIDE 2 opens with MORE playing their thunderous SOLDIER tune! Great song...

Track 2 is a band called MONEY. The song LEO the JESTER is probably the weakest on this compilation, but I like it very much indeed! This tells what a strong album this LP is!

Track 3 is the mighty GILLAN with the most wonderful version of their bluesy IF YOU BELIEVE ME. Never heard IAN sing better than on this song! 7-8 minutes of sheer power!!

The album closes with the much underated band: ANGEL WITCH! I don`t really like their albums, but this song, EXTERMINATION DAY and also the BAPHOMET tune from the METAL FOR MUTHAS album is great tunes!

If you ever comes close to this LP: BUY IT IMMEDIATELY!!
