Mantis Memories 1980 !

Posted by Chris (195.92.198.80) on February 14, 2001 at 23:21:28:

For some reason i just typed in the Praying Mantis name and the memories came flooding back. I first saw them supporting Iron Maiden in 1980 in Bristol at what was Romeo and Juliets night club. I actually preferred them to Maiden. i still have a signed photo from that night with Chris Troy's address and phone number on the back, now 21 years out of date!!!! Also remember buying the 12" ep of Captured City etc and Time Tells...I had completely lost touch with band. I even saw them in Bristol supporting Triumph!! I only went along to see Mantis and gatecrashed the gig! Glad they are still around and must get a back catalogue, I was always sad that they never made it really big. I always preferred the melodic guitar sound to the harder rock, although I still have loads of Maiden albums! Great to find the site!!!! Ripper!!!!!!!
Chris
