Word of mouth got me into Mantis; I bought the Captured City/Johnny Cool Soundhouse single and saw them support "Girl" at Hitchin College. Excellent gig by both bands. Remember tales of a home-made London College of Furniture guitar that weighed a ton. I thought that Mantis so nearly made it really big over here; "Time Tells No Lies" is one of the few NWOBHM albums that I still often play. Remember the boys being accused of sour grapes for releasing Cheated after the Rainbow wrangle. Surfed the net on a whim and was pleased and surprised at the reunion; is it still together?
